Tiivistelmä
The purpose of this thesis project was to conduct software testing for the client company Second Theatre Oy. The thesis focuses on Meta’s virtual reality checks, which are required in order to release a VR application on the Meta Quest Store. Second Theatre’s VR application is being developed for the Quest 2 VR headset and is expected to launch in 2024.
This thesis introduces the reader to the complex and technical process of VR software testing and highlights the main areas of focus for both developers and software testers. During the writing process, the author deepened his knowledge in regard to software testing, the Black Box Testing Framework, and the necessary requirements for VR applications. The software testing was conducted with Oculus Quest 2 glasses and the Meta Quest Store Test Plan.
After the software testing was conducted, all issues and suggestions for improvement were communicated to the programmers of Second Theatre. The development team has improved the application and all the requirements of the Oculus Quest Store have been met. From a technical point of view, the application is ready to be published and does not show any bugs or errors.
