Tiivistelmä
In the realm of power systems engineering, achieving pristine sinusoidal waveforms in voltage and current has remained a persistent challenge. This study delves into the use of single-phase chokes as a solution to the pervasive issue of harmonic distortion in Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
Through a blend of simulation and analysis utilizing Simplorer software, the investigation explored how incorporating a choke impacts the characteristics of input current. By scrutinizing parameters like Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and harmonic spectrums, the efficacy of chokes in dampening harmonics was uncovered.
The results are a significant decrease in THD and odd harmonic values with the integration of a choke, showcasing its potential to elevate the performance and reliability of VFD systems. This exploration not only offers practical insights but also contributes to a deeper understanding of how chokes can bolster power quality in VFD applications.
Keywords: Harmonic Distortion, Power Quality, Single-Phase Chokes, VFD, Harmonic Reduction Techniques, Harmonic Standards Compliance.
