This thesis is based on research done by iLOQ Oy research and development sector in the summer of 2023. The purpose of this thesis is to document and open the fundamentals of creating an auto-mated system and integrate instruments for test usage in order to work in a test environment. The thesis also dives into the basics of NFC and communication via TCP with programmable instru-ments such as actuators and measurement devices.
The thesis covers the basics of instrument programming in this case electronic load and SMC manufactured actuators (slider and rotary unit). The programming side is based on Python and the library CPPPO which includes basic commands for measurement devices.
