Tiivistelmä
This thesis was commissioned by a company based in Oulu active as a contract manufacturer in the field of printed electronics. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the Dutch and Belgian markets in the field of printed electronics and more specifically bespoke disposable medical electrodes and wearable sensors. The client wishes to know whether or not it is advisable to enter the market of the low countries or expand their presence there.
The thesis aims to identify potential customers, competitors, suppliers and partners for the client in the Netherlands and Belgium, gather information about them through desk and field research and conduct interviews with key operators on the markets. The eventual goal is to provide a go/no-go advice to the client and possibly advise on some of the ways they could enter the markets.
Qualitative research was used to gather data, and as the market is highly specialised and niche, a lot of the background knowledge is derived from the client itself as an expert in the field.
As a result of the market study it was possible to give the client advice on how to enter the Dutch and Belgian markets and under what circumstances it should be considered. With advice on how to approach the market in the future.
