The objective of the thesis was to optimize project reporting practices within the mechanical engineering sector,
focusing on a qualitative exploration of reporting complexities at ANDRITZ, a leading global provider of power
generation solutions. ANDRITZ is an Austrian Company established in 1852 in Graz and has quickly turned into
a large industry with a long list of innovative solutions in pulp and paper, hydro-power and renewable energy
systems. The aim of this study is to enhance project management practices and optimize internal reporting
systems to maintain competitiveness in a dynamic market.
Research data was from interviews, documents, and focus groups with 17 participants from various positions
within ANDRITZ. These methods were utilized to determine significant factors in project reporting and develop
practical recommendations for addressing them.
The research emphasized project management's role in achieving objectives and the importance of standards
like PMI, IPMA, and ISO for accurate project information transmission. It offers actionable insights for ANDRITZ
and similar organizations, suggesting investment in integrated tools, robust data validation, and continuous
training to improve reporting efficiency and sustainability in a competitive industrial environment.
