Tiivistelmä
This thesis aims to create a helpful orientation program for staff working with young asylum seekers in family group homes. The goal is to improve the care and support these young people receive. I will develop a guidebook for the orientation program, using ideas from social work, organizational change, and laws and policies. These ideas will help design the program and train staff effectively. I’ll use methods like reading existing research, talking to fellow colleagues, and working with our organization's professional staff. My main achievement is making a guidebook that helps staff understand the roles of working in a family group home and being able to support young asylum seekers better. The analysis shows that the program has improved staff understanding and how they help young asylum seekers. In conclusion, using different ideas together is important for helping young asylum seekers. Ongoing training, research and dealing with staff changes and remembering to take care of the staff’s mental well-being can help with keeping the organization working well.
