Tiivistelmä
This thesis explores the market potential for Piippo Oyj’s baling netwrap products within Poland's agricultural sector emphasizing the significance of sustainability, modernization, and efficient agricultural practices. The primary objective of this research was to understand the dynamics and challenges of the Polish agricultural market and evaluate opportunities for Piippo’s innovative netwrap solutions which prioritize feed preservation and reduced environmental impact.
The research methodology involved a comprehensive PEST analysis of Poland's agricultural landscape combined with an examination of trade data and the application of Harmonized System (HS) code insights. Secondary data from reputable sources including trade reports and governmental statistics were used to analyze trends in baling netwrap demand. The study also examined Poland's position as a major exporter of agricultural products like corn silage, hay, and wheat straw to link these export activities to the need for high-quality baling solutions.
The findings revealed that while Poland has successfully modernized parts of its agricultural sector, there is a growing demand for efficient baling technologies driven by the need for sustainable practices and EU regulations. Piippo’s netwrap products align with these requirements presenting a strong market entry opportunity. However, challenges such as income inequality among farmers, reliance on EU subsidies, and fluctuating international demand were noted. Further research is recommended to explore regional variations within Poland and assess the impact of evolving sustainability policies on agricultural practices.
