This thesis analyzes the entrepreneurial journey of establishing and managing a vacation rental management business from 2020 to 2024. The thesis objective was to examine the evolution of the business, evaluate the impact of self-management strategies on productivity and stress relief, and explore the connection between professional demands and personal well-being. A diary-style method was used to highlight the key milestones, improvements, and acquired insights.
The frameworks used included the Business Model Canvas for retrospective analysis of the business structure and its essential components, while the Eisenhower Matrix was used to illustrate how shifting the focus from crisis management to prevention and planning became an important strategy for business development. Additionally, this thesis examines the improvements in productivity as well as stress reduction by implementing modifications to the framework among self-management techniques.
The analysis suggested that proactive planning and improved task and self-management practices can improve business development and activities, as well as personal well-being. Eventually the study demonstrates the importance of adaptation in entrepreneurship by indicating that employing strategic frameworks together with the ability to navigate challenges effectively can enhance business success. In summary, the thesis offers perspective for entrepreneurs seeking practical insights on improving daily operations management.
