Tiivistelmä
The Virpa project series, which includes Virpa, Virpa2 and Virpa3, represents an innovative and strategic approach to reinventing fire safety education for children through technology. During the series, the project developed significantly: the use of virtual reality (VR) in behavioural research shifted to the development of an inspiring and gamified mobile learning environment for children aged 7–13. The series has not only promoted academic understanding of fire safety training, but also had a concrete impact on the identified shortcomings of traditional fire safety training. During these projects, we have collected extensive research material, collaborated with schools and rescue departments, and made significant advances in introducing innovative teaching methods to fire safety education.
This report presents comprehensive results and impacts of the Virpa3 project. Reflect on the challenges overcome, the technological advances made and the significant impact on key stakeholders such as schools, emergency services and the research community.
