Tiivistelmä
This study examines the effectiveness of HR-led training and development programs in enhancing healthcare workers' skills and job performance, commissioned by Uniikkihoiva.fi, a Finnish healthcare organization. The aim is to provide actionable insights into optimizing training programs to support workforce development and improve patient care quality.
Grounded in theories of professional development and organizational performance, the study leverages existing literature on training impacts, focusing on themes such as skill enhancement, employee engagement, and the integration of advanced training methodologies.
A qualitative approach was adopted, utilizing semi-structured interviews with 20 participants, including healthcare workers, HR managers, and trainers. Thematic analysis was applied to identify patterns and insights aligned with the research objectives.
The study identified HR-led training as critical in improving technical, ethical, and interpersonal skills, with simulation-based training and leadership modules being particularly impactful. Challenges such as time constraints and outdated materials were noted, but long-term benefits, including career growth and cultural competence, were emphasized.
The findings underscore the importance of aligning training programs with organizational goals and evolving industry standards. Recommendations include integrating advanced technologies, fostering flexibility in training schedules, and linking training participation to career advancement to maximize impact.
