Tiivistelmä
The study investigates the prospects and challenges for Indian immigrant entrepreneurs in Finland with focusing on the external environmental conditions affecting their entrepreneurial journey, especially the PESTLE frame of reference: Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Legal and Environmental. The study's primary rationale is to investigate the factors affecting success and growth of immigrant-based enterprises in Finland, hence throwing light on how these entrepreneurs navigate through the Finnish business terrain. There is a considerable knowledge gap in the literature about non-European immigrant entrepreneurs, possibly because the research has mainly targeted European migrants, there being greater access to information about EU citizens, or non-EU business owners having different integration issues. This thesis aims to fill this gap by discussing the distinctive experiences of Indian immigrant entrepreneurs in Finland.

The PESTLE model has been chosen as the theoretical framework for the analysis due to its comprehensiveness into any country's political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal standings faced while doing business. The research adopts a qualitative approach and consists of 15 semi structured interviews with Indian immigrant entrepreneurs. Using thematic analysis, the findings were analyzed and barriers and opportunities were identified for each of the PESTLE factors.

Findings of this thesis show that Finland is good for steady economy and strong legal protection and promises in technology and sustainability, but entrepreneurs have difficulties in funds acquisition, dealing with bureaucratic processes, and adapting to Finnish cultural and linguistic norms. The advancement in technology and environmental regulation is both a challenge and an opportunity.

Limitations of the study are the sample of 15 participants, and thus not quite representative of the experiences of all immigrant entrepreneurs in Finland. Further research using larger samples is needed to give a more generalized image of immigrant entrepreneurship in Finland.
