This thesis was carried out for a company as part of nitrogen reflow project. The interest was to study if there is profit in using the nitrogen reflow for certain types of products.
The project started with procurement and installation of the nitrogen reflow oven and other facilities, such as nitrogen generator. This thesis focused on the work after the installations that included planning and running trials with chosen products, analysing the results and creating reports.
The hypothesis of the applicable nitrogen levels were formed by researching studies made of the nitrogen reflow technology. The trials were planned based on those studies.
Based on the data, there was small improvement seen for some components. The number of trials carried out was small. This meant that no certain conclusions could be made based on this data, and more data would be needed.
