Tiivistelmä
Mielenterveyden haasteet ja neuropsykiatriset häiriöt ovat viime vuosina yleistyneet. Nämä haasteet vaikuttavat kokonaisvaltaisesti opiskelijan toimintakykyyn ja tätä kautta opiskelukykyyn. Tärkeässä roolissa on tunnistaa keinot tukea opiskelijaa opinnäytetyöprosessissa.
Artikkelimuotoisena opinnäytetyönä tehtiin artikkelisuunnitelma. Artikkelisuunnitelma kirjoitettiin yhteistyössä Turun ammattikorkeakoulun lehtorin Krista Salo-Tuomisen kanssa. Artikkeliopinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tuoda esille teoreettiset lähtökohdat opiskelijoiden tukemiseen, joilla on mielenterveyden haasteita ja neuropsykiatrisia häiriöitä. Tarkoituksena oli kehittää toimintamalli opinnäytetyöprosessiin, joka huomioi opiskelijoiden yksilölliset erityispiirteet.
Opinnäytetyöprosessin toimintamalli on arvokas työkalu opinnäytetyön ohjaajalle, jotta opiskelijaa voidaan tukea opinnäytetyöprosessissa yksilöllisesti. Mielenterveys- ja neuropsykiatriset haasteet vaativat joustavaa, kokonaisvaltaista ja ihmislähtöistä lähestymistapaa. Opinnäytetyöprosessin toimintamalli vaatii jatkuvaa kehittämistä, jotta se vastaa opiskelijoiden tarpeisiin. Mental health issues and neuropsychiatric disorders have become more common in recent years. These challenges comprehensively affect a student’s functional ability and therefore their ability to study. It’s important to identify ways to support student during the thesis process.
An article was made for this article-based thesis.The article plan was written in collaboration with Krista Salo-Tuominen, a lecturer at Turku University of Applied Sciences. The aim of the article thesis was to present the theoretical foundations for supporting students who have mental health issues and neuropsychiatric disorders. The purpose was to develop a model for the thesis process that takes into account the individual special characteristics of students.
The thesis process model is a valuable tool for thesis supervisors to provide individualized support to students during the thesis process. Mental health and neuropsychiatric challenges require a flexible, holistic, and human-centered approach. The thesis process model requires continuous development to meet the needs of students.
