Tiivistelmä
Effective project communication and leadership are fundamental components in ensuring
the success of customer delivery projects, which form a central part of company operations. Clear planning, efficient communication and goal-oriented leadership are especially critical in international projects, where they directly influence project smoothness, stakeholder collaboration, and the quality of outcomes.
This thesis presents a comparative analysis of two customer delivery projects within Wärtsilä Finland Oy's Marine Project Services unit. The objective was to evaluate stakeholder perceptions, identify communication challenges and propose practical measures to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
The data was collected through semi-structured interviews conducted via Microsoft Teams involving stakeholders from Wärtsilä’s Marine project services organization. The study emphasizes the importance of developing a communication plan at the start of each project to support successful execution and stakeholder alignment.
The research revealed four key conclusions and proposals for improvement related to leadership, customer satisfaction, project communication, and delivery. These observations can support the planning of training programs aimed at project and site personnel, promoting more effective practices and continuous improvement in future projects.
