The purpose of this thesis was to study how project management principles can be applied to a real-life task handover in corporate environment. The thesis project focused on moving the HINAS report from the Tender & Contracting team to the Offer Ops team internally at Medtronic. The project objective was to align the task with the appropriate internal team and to increase the Tender & Contracting team’s efficiency by doing so.
This thesis was written as a learning diary reflecting on the author’s personal professional growth while acting as Project Assurance. The thesis was executed using mixed methods and supported by project management methods from PRINCE2. Project deliverables included a work description of the reporting process and a full handover of the task.
The project met the objectives and was executed successfully within the set tolerance limits. Results from this thesis showcase how applying project management principles even to a smaller scale internal projects improve the outcome. Future development ideas include the use of anonymous feedback surveys for project participants after each project stage.
