Tiivistelmä
Regrettably, the whole globe is grappling with the issue of building and demolition (C&D) waste level. Nigeria, like other developing countries, faces inefficiency in construction sector due to inadequate collaboration, insufficient information, and bad management. A big obstacle to Nigeria's circular economy is the country's massive amount of construction and demolition (C&D) waste residue. Building information modelling (BIM) is proposed in this write-up as a digitalization strategy for reducing these wastes in the long run. The study adopts both quantitative and qualitative data ways of evaluation to achieve its goals.

The paper has six chapters. The first chapter discusses the issue statement, study goal and goals, and offers context for the research topic. The second part examines academic publications on the topic of building, with a concentration in the Global Perspective of Waste as well as the unquantifiable benefits of BIM as a strategy for mitigating C&D Waste substances. The third chapter discusses the current waste situation in Nigeria and the Methodology used in the research. The fourth chapters addressed the outcome and debate on BIM based waste management, as well as the conclusion. The fifth Chapter gives detailed suggestion and practical implications.
Even though BIM is growing more popular in Nigeria, the research found no regulations that explicitly promote its adoption. It also indicated a serious scenario with high trash creation, poor disposal, and landfill use. Improved waste management and sustainable building are recommended by the study.

According to studies, Toyin (2023) reports that 59.5% to 98.55% of Nigerians know BIM technology, whereas 22.8% use it. The findings show that although BIM knowledge is strong, Nigerian building processes still face significant challenges that must be overcome to fully harness its potential.
