Tiivistelmä
The public health sector plays a pivotal role in advancing the planetary health approach, promoting both human well-being and environmental sustainability. This manual provides educational resources for an EQF Level 7 course on planetary health, targeted at master’s-level educators.
The course is module-based, designed to build learners’ knowledge, skills, and collaborative capacity to address complex real-world challenges, advocate for health, and foster transformative approaches that support sustainable practices.
A policy brief assignment functions as a cross-cutting element throughout the course. Learners select their own topic, aligning it with their expertise, interests, and professional development goals in planetary health. Alongside the main assignment, discussion-based tasks during contact teaching deepen conceptual understanding and highlight practical applications.
The course also explicitly integrates the IUHPE Core Competency: Advocate for Health. Learners develop the ability to advocate for health and well-being in ways that respect ecological limits and promote social and intergenerational equity. Emphasis is placed on leadership, empowerment, and partnership.
