Tiivistelmä
Adopting innovative and integrated strategies is vital as the built environment significantly contributes to global environmental degradation and resource consumption. The study aims to investigate the synergies among LC, BIM, and CE, examining their combined impact on project efficiency, environmental performance, and cost-effectiveness. The research adopts a qualitative methodology comprising literature review, expert interviews, and case study analysis of real-world projects. These methods enabled a comprehensive understanding of the individual and collective contributions of LC, BIM, and CE to sustainable construction. The study identifies key intersections, integration challenges, and opportunities for improvement. Findings reveal that while each concept independently promotes sustainability, their integration offers amplified benefits such as reduced waste, enhanced collaboration, and efficient resource use. However, technological incompatibilities, resistance to change, and policy gaps hinder full integration. A conceptual framework is proposed to facilitate the holistic application of these strategies across construction phases. The thesis concludes that integrating LC, BIM, and CE provides a practical pathway to achieving environmental and operational goals in construction. The proposed framework offers valuable guidance for industry practitioners and policymakers aiming to align construction practices with global sustainability objectives.
