Satellite antenna test systems : Satellite antenna testing and performance test case implementation with CATR OTA

Abstract

This thesis, conducted for Verkotan, focused on satellite antenna test systems. The thesis writer, a student at OAMK with a background in base station testing but no prior experience in satellite testing, aimed to document the testing process for Verkotan and provided an overview of antenna theory. The material for this thesis was primarily sourced from web articles written by professionals in the field, as well as insights from Verkotan’s experts. Despite the initial plan, no tests were implemented due to no possibility to conduct the tests, and communication difficulties caused delays with the thesis. The thesis also explored automation possibilities and is concluded with a summary of potential solutions to the problems encountered during the project.
